We are proud to say while producing high-quality cheese products, we have developed an eco-friendly process which reduces our carbon footprint, respects nature, and supports sustainable growth for future generations.
Championing Local Agriculture
There’s nothing better than a good neighbour. By sourcing milk from a select group of local dairy farmers, we ensure unique taste, exceptional quality, and full traceability. We take comfort in knowing Bessie enjoyed a well-balanced supper and a good night’s sleep, resulting in rich, high-quality milk each morning.
These farming families are the quiet heroes of our community. Often overlooked despite their invaluable contributions, their dedication ensures milk produced under strict animal welfare standards, free from growth hormones and antibiotics, . We encourage you and your family to connect with your local farmers. They are the backbone of rural communities everywhere.
Water Conservation Practices
We believe access to clean drinking water is a fundamental human right. Being on an island, our water supply may seem abundant, but there’s no excuse for wasting this precious resource. As a food manufacturer, we use water responsibly to maintain proper sanitation before and after cheese-making. To minimize waste, we’ve implemented processes to recycle potable water.
We are proud to have integrated a geothermal system that diverts 400,000 litres (106,000 gallons) of water annually back into the water table—without harming the environment.
Offsetting our Carbon Footprint
Our business relies on energy to transform fresh milk into exceptional cheese. We’ve transitioned much of our energy use from fossil fuels to biomass, utilizing locally available resources in a respectful and sustainable way. Recognizing that no system is perfect, we’ve planted over 3,000 trees to offset our carbon footprint and remain committed to giving back to the planet.
